GAC®2100 Agri FAQs

Q: How long does it take to test a sample of grain?
A: The GAC2100 Agri takes around 33 seconds to test a sample.

Q: Can I use any type of printer with this or do you have to use a DICKEY-john Printer?
A: You need a printer that meets the following requirements: Must be a strip printer with an RS-232 serial port connection 1200 baud rate, 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit.

Q: Can the GAC2100 Agri be certified?
A: The GAC2100 Agri can not.

Q: How can I remove approx. test weight?
A: On startup when asked which language choose number 8 English.

Q: How many grain calibrations can the GAC2100 Agri hold?
A: The Agri holds 8 grains.

Q: I keep receiving an error 9 message?
A: An error 9 means the sample temperature exceeds its limit. Allow the sample to cool down or warm up, and then try again. The machine and the grain temperature need to be within 20˚ of each other or you receive an error 9 message.

Q: Is there any difference in the readout displayed on the GAC2100b and GAC2100 Agri?
A: No, both testers will display moisture, temperature and test weight.

Q: What are the operating temperatures of the Machines?
A: The operating temperatures of the machines are 41-113˚.

Q: Is it hard to enter/change calibrations?
A: No, from the main menu choose 3 Calibration Menu, then 2. Enter/ change Calibration, select the grain to change. Depress the white button on the rear lower right corner (Note NTEP machine are sealed and can only be changed by a state certified company or personnel). Then select the K numbers that need to be changed.

Q: What temperature can the grain be?
A: The tester can test grains with a range from 32- 104˚.

Q: Will the GAC500XT run off of batteries?
A: No. The tester needs to be plugged in when it is in use.

Q: How many times should I slide the striker across the grain?
A: One time is generally all that is required.
