PM100 and PM100E FAQs

Q: The console won’t turn on.
A: This may be the result of one of the following issues: 1. Blown fuse. 2. Battery connections. Don’t use an in-cab convenience plug. 3. Damaged power cable. 4. Control console is defective.

Q: Why doesn't the indicator light turn on or the alarm beep during power up?
A: Your monitor is defective.

Q: One row indicator fails to flash when planting; the alarm sounds continuously; and the seeds are being planted by row unit. What is wrong?
A: It could be a defective seed sensor, poor harness connection at console or at sensor, or a defective sensor or harness wire.

Q: My PM100 never blinks and all the rows are planting.
A: 1. Check all harnesses to assure that they are properly connected. 2. Check the connectors to make sure the pins are lining up correctly. Some harnesses will fit together but are not pinned out the same. 3. Decrease the threshold level with the left toggle switch. If the threshold is too high the monitor will blink because it never reaches the level of seeds per second.

Q: My PM100 does not buzz when I pick up at the end of each row?

Q: How do I dim or brighten the lights?
A: After the unit is turned on, push the right toggle switch up into the Momentary position and hold.

Q: I do not like the lights flashing all the time. Can they just come on when there is a failure?
A: Yes. Upon initial startup, flip the toggle switch up to the On position and hold into the Momentary position for one second or until the monitor blinks and beeps. This indicates the monitor is in alarm mode.

Q: How do I stop the alarm each time I lift up the planter at the end rows?
A: Push the toggle switch up to the Momentary position to acknowledge the alarm.

Q: I have one row that gives me constant problems, but it is planting fine. What is wrong?
A: Check the connection from the sensor to harness, clean the tube and sensor with soap and water, and check the harness to that sensor for cuts or pinches. Replace the sensor if it doesn't change.

Q: The monitor does not acknowledge rows 1-6 on a 12-row planter?
A: Check your planter harness thoroughly. You’re probably not getting power or ground to the first half of the planter. The power and ground are split in two halves of the harness.
