Q: What is an error 6?
A: An error 6 means system or excessive reference log drift. If the problem does not clear on its own, clean the reference disk and aperture glass.

Q: What is an error 7?
A. An error 7 means there is too much system noise. It will normally clear itself, but if it doesn't, contact DICKEY-john service at 1-800-637-3302.

Q: Can I develop my own constants?
A. Yes, DICKEY-john has a regression program that will help you develop your own constants.

Q: Can the INSTALAB test whole grains?
A. No, it can only test ground samples.

Q: What is an error 0?
A: Error 0 means the sample is not reflective enough. Clean the sample cup, or try a different sample.

Q: What is an error 11?
A: Error 11 means a constant has been altered in memory. Check to see if a constant was changed.

Q: How long does the INSTALAB take to run a sample?
A. Typically, the INSTALAB will test a sample in 10 seconds.

Q: How do I correct an error 6 upon startup?
A. Wait a couple of hours for the machine to warm up.

Q: What is an error 1?
A. Error 1 means the sample is too reflective. Clean the sample cup, or try a different sample.

Q: How many filters can the INSTALAB use?
A. The INSTALAB can use 4-10 filters.
