Q: How many grains will the GAC500XT hold?
A: The GAC500XT will hold 16 different grain calibrations.
Q: How long does it take for the instrument to test a sample?
A: It takes approx. 25 seconds.
Q: Is the GAC500XT portable?
A: Yes, the tester will need a power source from a 12v cigarette adapter or plugged into an 110v wall plug. Both are included with the tester.
Q: Do I need to measure how much grain to put in the tester?
A: No, a measured amount is not required.
Q: Should I take out the shipping screws before I turn the tester on?
A: Yes. The tester will run a self diagnosis when it is turned on, and if the screws are in you could damage the tester.
Q: If I would want to put in a different calibration, who do I call?
A: You can call the dealer you bought the tester from, or call DICKEY-john @ 1(800)637-3302 to acquire different calibrations.
Q: Will the tester operate without the drawer installed?
A: Yes, it will operate.
Q: If I move the tester from place to place should I put in the screws?
A: Yes, if you move the tester without the shipping screws, you risk damaging the test cell.
Q: Will the GAC500XT run off of batteries?
A: No. The tester needs to be plugged in when it is in use.
Q: How many times should I slide the striker across the grain?
A: One time is generally all that is required.
