DICKEY-JOHN CHOSEN AS AN AE50 AWARD WINNER
FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAC® 2500
Grain Analysis Computer uses 149 MHz analysis technology
offering shorter analysis time
St. Joseph, Michigan. – ASABE, The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers recently announced that DICKEY-john Corporation, based in Auburn, Illinois, has won an AE50 award.
DICKEY-john developed the GAC® 2500, deemed one of the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries. This unit was developed for commercial use with the newest 149 MHz analysis technology, a UGMA grain moisture algorithm developed by the USDA/FGIS. UGMA provides a reduction in the number of grain calibrations required to deliver precise moisture results. The unit is equipped with NTEP calibrations for all grain types.
The 2011 AE50 innovative new product winners were announced January 6 during the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference. The AE50 winners continued to be highlighted throughout the week at the Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s (AEM) new Ag Connect Expo.
The GAC® 2500 will be featured in the March/April 2011 special AE50 issue of ASABE’s magazine Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.
Art Tsubaki, Vice President of Marketing stated, “We are honored to receive this award. The GAC® 2500 offers the grain industry the latest load cell technology, improved mechanics, and fast infrared temperature compensation that have made the unit more responsive providing shorter analysis time. This results in faster sample runs that are extremely important during busy seasons.”
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition and up to 50 of the best products are chosen by a panel of international engineering experts. The judges select products that will best advance engineering for the food and agriculture industries.
The AE50 award program is sponsored by Resource to emphasize the role of new products and systems in bringing advanced technology to the marketplace. These engineering developments help farmers, food processors and equipment manufacturers cut costs, enhance quality and increase profits.
