DICKEY-john has received notification that the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) has successfully evaluated the DICKEY-john GAC® 2500-UGMA according to the requirements listed in “Criteria and Checklist for Unified Grain Moisture Algorithm (UGMA) and Official System Compatibility”. As a result of this successful evaluation, the DICKEY-john GAC® 2500UGMA is now GIPSA-Certified as UGMA-Compatible.
Mary Alonzo of the USDA praised DICKEY-john’s efforts throughout the certification process and states that, “we look forward to working with (DICKEY-john) for many years to come to utilize this new moisture technology for the benefit of the United States and global grain industries. Thank you very much for the huge commitment that you and your company have made to develop and manufacture this instrument and for the diligent cooperation of your engineering team in completing the evaluation of UGMA-compatibility.”
The GAC 2500-UGMA was also selected by the USDA for the GIPSA Moisture Meter contract. Granted the maximum award allowance, DICKEY-john will supply the USDA with 75 Grain Analysis Computers, Model 2500-UGMA (GAC® 2500-UGMA). The GAC® 2500-UGMA units will be allocated to federal check stations nationwide in preparation for the UGMA (Unified Grain Moisture Algorithm) transition this fall.
“Being selected by the USDA to provide the vast majority of moisture meters for the federal system is both an honor and a tremendous responsibility,” said Dave DeAzevedo, Senior Global Product Manager. “With the quality and capability of the DICKEY-john GAC® 2500-UGMA, along with the nationwide coverage provided by our recently expanded network of sales and service centers, we are confident that the USDA will be extremely satisfied with their selection.”
